Offit Kurman Attorney Hosts Objective Rally Point: A Networking Event For Veteran Owned Businesses

You wouldn’t enter the battlefield unsupported—why should business be any different? A recurring series of networking events in the Washington, DC metro area offers support for Veterans business owners and warriors transitioning from service to business careers. Objective Rally Point (ORP) is networking breakfast where Veterans and companies looking for Veteran owned businesses to team with can meet to discuss strategies, news, and opportunities in their community. In military strategy, an objective rally point is where a patrol stops to make final preparation before moving on to its objective.

For three years DC ORP has provided the same kind of tactical gathering for Veteran business owners. From the relationships formed at ORP attendees have established rewarding partnerships through referrals, teaming arrangements and employment opportunities. Founded and hosted by Offit Kurman Principal, DC-ORP carries a familiar military camaraderie into the business world. He is himself a service-connected disabled Veteran who has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His past achievements include tenures as Legal Advisor to Special Operations, US Army Ranger, advisor to a procurement fraud task force, and government ethics counselor.

With a practice focus in Government Contract Law, Offit Kurman attorney guides clients through all phases of federal and state contracting. DC-ORP is an unparalleled opportunity for government contractors to find qualified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SVOSB) teaming partners. Business owners and entrepreneurs interested in supporting Veterans are welcome and encouraged to attend. Although the focus of ORP is networking, each monthly breakfast also features a speaker. Past speakers have included senior military and government officials as well as speakers to inspire and educate on issues important to the Veteran community.

This month, DC-ORP is proud to present the co-authors of 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi. Join CIA security contractors Mark “Oz” Geist, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, and John “Tig” Tiegon as they tell their story and answer questions. Nearly a hundred and fifty people attended last month’s event to hear a panel of five government OSDBUs. Reservations for October’s ORP are quickly rolling in and more than 150 are expected to attend. This month marks our final breakfast for the year before our annual end of year Holiday dinner on December 2nd with keynote speaker Oliver North., DC-ORP monthly breakfasts will continue in January 2015. Do not miss this opportunity to meet local Veterans, learn from experts in their field, and find inspiration for your next venture. DC-ORP is proudly sponsored by Offit Kurman, Attorneys At Law.
