Baltimore’s small businesses are earning more and fetching higher value on the market. The second quarter is showing Baltimore small businesses are changing hands at pre-recession prices:
- The median asking price of 243 listed businesses rose to $276,500 in the second quarter, a 4.3 percent increase from $265,000 a year ago.
- For the 15 closed transactions, Baltimore businesses sold for about 29 percent more money than the national average—or a median of $230,000.
