Read|Delete: Baltimore Small Businesses Fetching Higher Value

Baltimore’s small businesses are earning more and fetching higher value on the market. The second quarter is showing Baltimore small businesses are changing hands at pre-recession prices:

  • The median asking price of 243 listed businesses rose to $276,500 in the second quarter, a 4.3 percent increase from $265,000 a year ago.
  • For the 15 closed transactions, Baltimore businesses sold for about 29 percent more money than the national average—or a median of $230,000.
