HOAs squeezed when dues are not paid

    Do any of you represent the homeowners. Either way, they are the people that pay you.

    I used to represent homeowners but had to end the practice, since it invariably pitted me against HOA management companies that I work with every day (conflict of interest). Also, homeowners not familiar with the law or the legal system were often overly optimistic about what an attorney could accomplish for them, and what it would cost.

    That being said, I would consider representing a homeowner who had a good case, had the will to pursue it, and there was no conflict of interest, and didn’t require me to make arguments or take positions that were adverse to HOAs in general.
