Friday Factoid – 10.11.13

One of the top songs of the summer, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, recently became the subject of copyright litigation. Marvin Gaye’s family, as owners of Gaye’s Got to Give It Up, and Bridgeport Music, as owner of Funkadelic’s Sexy Ways, each claimed that Blurred Lines infringes on the copyright they owned. Robin Thicke and his co-artists, Pharrell Williams and Clifford Harris, Jr. (a/k/a T.I.), filed a declaratory action lawsuit to determine the rights of the parties. Source:
