CEOS with the highest pay Chief executives at the largest U.S. companies were paid $5,000 an hour, on averge, in 2012, making in 11 hours more than the typical U.S. family earns all year. Larry Ellison (Oracle) topped the chart to take $96M.  Les Moonves (CBS), David Zaslav (Discovery Communications) and Robert Iger (Disney) all placed among the highest paid, with compensation of between $37 M – 60 M. As usual, most of the pay came in the form of stocks and options – often without real performance hurtles even though this kind of pay is supposed to serve as an incentive.
