If the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registers a trademark or service mark, the mark will be registered only as it is used to identify certain branded goods or services.  Marks may be registered in multiple classes of goods and/or services.  For example, the USPTO registered SUPER BOWL for the National Football League in connection with television broadcasting services, helmets, cell phone covers, jewelry, posters, toys, golf balls, playing cards and many other items.
