PRACTICE FOCUS
Eric J. Pelletier is a commercial litigation attorney who represents clients in a variety of complex, high value commercial disputes. While Eric’s practice regularly includes corporate and partnership disputes, he also handles real estate controversies, insurance matters and trusts and estate litigation. Eric’s other real estate litigation experience includes transactional controversies, partition claims and the trial of a riparian rights claim. While Eric frequently resolves litigation through pre-trial motions, he has tried many bench and jury trials in state and federal courts and has argued numerous appeals. Eric’s practice also includes estate and trust litigation, as well as insurance coverage and recovery matters.
Eric is the Chair of Offit Kurman’s Ethics Committee and is the Vice-Chair of the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission’s Peer Review Committee.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Represented a public company and its subsidiary in winning a $9.5 million arbitration award against parties who fraudulently induced a merger of the companies
- Regularly handles corporate disputes arising from corporate acquisitions, internal disputes over control and governance, and partnership disputes
- Regularly defends property management companies and building owners against claims brought by tenants, including, but not limited to, housing discrimination and tenant class action claims
- In a case that resulted in a reported decision from Maryland’s highest court, defeated a tenant class’s attempted disgorgement of nearly $4 million in rental payments from an owner of a 300-unit building
