Sathima H. Jones is an attorney in the Insurance Recovery group based in the Philadelphia office.
Ms. Jones focuses her practice on representing policyholders in disputes with insurance companies and provides coverage opinions on a variety of issues. In her civil practice, Ms. Jones represents companies and individuals in insurance coverage litigation, defense of injury claims, and errors and omissions lawsuits.
Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Ms. Jones worked as an associate attorney at firm in the tri state area where she practiced commercial litigation and insurance defense law. Prior to that she served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Michael J. Nelson, J.S.C. (Ret.) of the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex Vicinage. She also served as an intern for the Office of the US Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
POINTS OF DISTINCTION
During law school, Ms. Jones served as the Secretary of Temple’s Black Law Students Association and Vice President of the Christian Legal Society. She also served as a fellow for the National Bar Association, Real Estate and Probate Division. Ms. Jones is a recipient of the Justice Juanita Kidd Stout/ Sadie T.M. Alexander Award, which is awarded to Philadelphia area law students with proven abilities and potential for success in the practice of law.
She is certified to conduct mediation in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Ms. Jones is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation, where she serves on the Minority Trial Lawyer Committee’s Editorial Board, where she edits the Committee’s Articles and is an author and editor of content for the blog, Practice Points. She is also a member of the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division and the New Jersey Bar Association.
