Rebecca Prosper is an attorney in the insurance recovery practice group.
Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Rebecca worked at the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department in the Civil Rights Unit defending police and correctional officers in 42 U.S.C 1983 suits and related state law actions, primarily involving claims asserting excessive force, assault and battery, and false arrest and/or false imprisonment. During her time with the City, Rebecca gained significant litigation experience trying 12 cases to verdict in both state and federal courts, conducting and defending hundreds of depositions, as well as arguing dozens of oral arguments for motions to quash, motions to dismiss, motions in limine, and motions for summary judgment.
While at the law department, Rebecca continued to use and develop her leadership skills. Beginning in 2016, Rebecca served as the co-coordinator for the Law Department’s law school internship program and led targeted lessons for area elementary school students through the Advancing Civics Education (A.C.E.) program. Later, through successful participation as a fellow in Drexel University’s Leading for Change Fellowship offered by the Institute for Strategic Leadership, Rebecca was tasked with creating or expanding a solution to improve the quality of life for Philadelphians and the efficacy of government in resolving a sponsor-identified challenge.
