Gwen’s practice in real estate focuses on representing multifamily housing providers, developers and entrepreneurs of all sizes, including litigating landlord-tenant disputes on behalf of residential and commercial landlords. She spends the majority of her time in court prosecuting and defending cases on behalf of large property management companies, medium to small businesses, and individual owners. She devotes a large portion of her practice to Fair Housing Act compliance and defense litigation. She competently and aggressively navigates clients through administrative investigations, regulatory compliance and training on best practices. Gwen has also honed a specialty in resolving disputes for condominium and cooperative associations. Outside of the courtroom, she dedicates considerable time to the transactional sphere, which includes lease review and drafting, non-disclosure agreements and confidential settlement or general release agreements.
Gwen frequently conducts presentations in the three local jurisdictions (VA, MD and DC) on best practices for landlords to avoid a Fair Housing complaint.
"The litigation process is often deeply frustrating; but in the real estate realm there are a myriad of factors outside the black letter of the law at play. Clients turn to me to guide them through the process with fierce determination, an eye for expedient resolution, and the grace and patience to handle any hurdles along the way."
