Alex Temple is an attorney in Offit Kurman’s Financial Institutions Regulatory Practice Group. She advises clients on federal and state licensing and approval requirements, prepares multi-state compliance reviews and surveys pertaining to mortgage lending, brokering, servicing, and debt collection programs. In addition, Alex drafts loan originator/branch manager compensation agreements and programs, and reviews the same for compliance with all state and federal requirements. She prepares in-depth client-facing presentations regarding issues such as RESPA Section 8 and transfer fees/assumability.
Alex drafts and oversees/coordinates local counsel’s review of proprietary and HECM loan documents and required disclosures for compliance with state and federal laws/regulations. She conducts due diligence and mock CFPB examinations to identify areas of potential risk for companies, and advises companies as to how to fill any gaps in compliance programs.
She advises clients on applicable guidelines and requirements of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”), United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”), Department of Veteran Affairs (“VA”), Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (“Freddie Mac”), Federal National Mortgage Association (“Fannie Mae”), Government National Mortgage Association (“Ginnie Mae”), and United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”).
