Offit Kurman Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Project HEAL with Silver Sponsorship
For Immediate Release Baltimore, MD | June 15, 2015 Offit Kurman will join in commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Project HEAL as a Silver Sponsor of the celebration event in September. Project HEAL (Health, Education, Advocacy, and Law) is a community-based program of Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Maryland’s only comprehensive medical–legal partnership. For nearly a decade, Project HEAL has provided advocacy and legal services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Attorneys involved in the project collaborate with MCDD’s healthcare professionals and trainees to ensure all patients receive the finest standard of medical and legal care available. In 2012, Project HEAL received a Hospital Charitable Service Award, a national honor recognizing outstanding health care outreach programs with measurable impact. Kennedy Krieger and Offit Kurman have several connections aside from a shared passion for charitable representation and legal consultation for low-income patients. Additionally, Howard Kurman—former chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Department—is father-in-law of Kennedy Krieger’s Director of Guest Relations. “This is an ideal and definitive partnership for us,” said Mr. Kurman. “Our firm is dedicated to providing legal assistance based in trust. Helping those in need has been an essential component of our mission since day one. I look forward to seeing Offit Kurman continue to deliver on our promise to this project and Kennedy Krieger as a whole.” Project HEAL’s 10th Anniversary event will be held in the Kennedy Krieger Outpatient Center and Healing Garden on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6:00–8:00pm.
