Offit Kurman Attorney Bryan Pelino to Chair Maryland State Bar Association’s Committee on Uniform Commercial Code

For Immediate Release Maple Lawn, MD | August 24, 2015 The Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) has named Bryan Pelino, banking and finance principal attorney at Offit Kurman, Chair of the Committee on Uniform Commercial Code for the Business Law Section. The Section and Committee are responsible for monitoring and advising the state bar on changes within commercial law, transactions, and practices. As part of the MSBA Business Law Section, the Committee on Uniform Commercial Code provides Section members with the latest information regarding U.S. and state UCC law, as well as opportunities to discuss and collaborate on related articles and research. The group influences the study and development of state legislation, and Maryland commercial attorneys rely on the Committee’s opinions when counseling clients about UCC matters. Bryan Pelino will join the ranks of the Maryland law professionals who have served on the Council of the MSBA Business Law Section over the years, including current MSBA Franchise & Distribution Law Committee chair and Offit Kurman attorney Brian Loffredo. Bryan Pelino acts as counsel to lenders, developers, and business owners in negotiating and documenting various credit facilities including development and construction loans, real estate and business acquisitions facilities, and asset-based lines of credit. Additionally, he represents clients in the redocumentation of troubled loans, debtor-in-possession financing and loan workouts.  Offit Kurman’s Banking and Finance Practice Group gives credit to Bryan for expanding the firm’s representation of regional and national lenders as well as the growth of the firm’s capacity to counsel clients in connection with government guaranteed loan programs. He is also a frequent lecturer to local, regional, and national lenders and trade groups on a variety of topics including commercial loan documentation, title review, mortgage compliance and regulatory concerns.
