Business Description
Offit Kurman is a dynamic, full-service commercial law firm serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic corridor. The firm represents businesses and business owners in all aspects of business law (particularly business transactions), real estate transactions, labor and employment law, estate planning/administration and asset protection, health law and commercial litigation. The firm’s overriding service model is to be the “go to” advisor for all of the client’s needs, and to be recognized by clients as part of their trusted advisory team, not just “hired guns” who are merely project-oriented in nature. Offit Kurman strives to maintain long, successful relationships with clients, and has managed to do that over the last 20 years.

Target Customer
The target customer is the closely held business and business owner who have the need for regular legal and business advice and counsel of a sophisticated nature. Offit Kurman effectively serves
those businesses and owners and maintains a close advisory relationship with clients served.

Most Memorable Sale in 2006
It is difficult to single out one particular transaction or case because many were noteworthy. The firm represented several companies in mergers and acquisitions resulting in the exchange of millions of dollars. Additionally, the firm successfully litigated many commercial/employment cases where the clients were exposed to huge monetary liability, and where Offit Kurman obtained extremely favorable results on behalf of those clients.

Business Plans and Challenges for 2007
Offit Kurman’s hope and goal for 2007 is to continue the successful growth of the firm that has been occurring for the last five years. Through strategic planning and some luck, Offit Kurman has been extremely successful in deepening the talent pool and broadening the ability to effectively serve commercial clients. The biggest challenge going forward is to strategically manage the rapid growth through retention of the talented staff and through complete integration of the “client first” mentality
with new attorneys who join the staff. Offit Kurman wants to be the employer of choice for commercial practice lawyers in the Baltimore-Washington region.

Most Important Issue Facing the Industry in 2007
The industry, like all industries, faces the ever greater need to attract and retain talented staff.
With talented staff members the firm will be able to consistently provide services with added
value to clients.
