Offit Kurman Continues its Smart Growth Plan in Philadelphia |
|
Philadelphia, PA - Offit Kurman continues its aggressive growth in the Philadelphia region by adding six new lawyers from the Philadelphia office of the New York City-based law firm Anderson Kill & Olick, P.C. This move follows a 9-lawyer acquisition from Abrahams Loewenstein & Bushman in October 2008 and increases the size of Offit Kurman’s Philadelphia office to 21 attorneys. The Firm now has 73 attorneys firm wide and continues to grow rapidly. Joining the firm are: Mark E. Gottlieb, Michael Conley, Frederick A. Pettit, Darin J. McMullen, William H. Pillsbury and Meghan K. Finnerty. With the new additions, Offit Kurman takes a bold step in boosting its commercial litigation practice by creating a new practice group dedicated exclusively to representing policyholders in disputes with insurance companies which will enable the Firm to better service its regional middle market clients. Michael Conley will Chair the new Insurance Recovery Group. Philadelphia recruiter Cathy Abelson of Abelson Legal Search introduced Offit Kurman to the former Anderson Kill attorneys earlier this year. “In 2007, Offit Kurman opened its Philadelphia office with a single lawyer. In two years’ time, we have experienced explosive growth and are very excited to continue the expansion of our Philadelphia presence. The Firm is honored that these fine lawyers have decided to join us in that pursuit,” stated Ted Offit, Offit Kurman’s Managing Principal. “As veteran Philadelphia lawyers, we are gratified to join such a dynamic firm as Offit Kurman. We look forward to better serving our existing clients and working with our new colleagues to support their commitment to the Philadelphia region and increasing the Firm’s footprint in this area,” commented Mark E. Gottlieb. As a former Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Gottlieb, who will formally join the Firm later this Fall, has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, with an emphasis on commercial litigation, insurance recovery litigation, securities litigation, health care litigation, white collar criminal litigation and anti-counterfeiting. Mr. Conley's broad legal experience covers insurance recovery litigation, general commercial litigation, and labor and employment law. In addition, he provides general business advice to a variety of clients. Also a former Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Pettit focuses his practice on insurance recovery litigation, commercial litigation, and employment litigation. He also advises clients on matters related to anti-counterfeiting. Mr. McMullen concentrates his practice in business litigation with an emphasis on labor and employment, commercial litigation and insurance recovery. Mr. Pillsbury focuses his practice on insurance recovery matters, as well as business litigation, including commercial real estate and construction matters. Ms. Finnerty devotes her practice to insurance recovery and commercial litigation |
