5. Offit Kurman No. 13 on Baltimore Business Journal List of Largest Law Firms
You may remember from our blog last year that the Baltimore Business Journal ranked Offit Kurman among the “largest law firms in the Baltimore Area.” It’s a new year and we are pleased to announce that Offit Kurman is once again ranked among the largest law firms in the area, coming in at No. 13. Firms were ranked based on the number of lawyers working in the area. Offit Kurman first appeared on the Journal’s list of largest law firms in 2008. Read the full story here.
4. Offit Kurman on Track as Largest Full-Service Frederick Law Firm
The members of the law firm of Severn & Kresslein. P.A., have joined the fast-growing law firm of Offit Kurman, which had affiliated last year with another Frederick law firm, Seymour B. Stern & Associates. The new affiliation will be effective August 1, 2014 and continue to occupy its present offices at 50 Carroll Creek Way, Suite 340, in Frederick. The announcement was made by Ted Offit, the co-founder and managing principal of Offit Kurman, who stated: “We are delighted to have Dave Severn, Bob Kresslein and Ian Bartman join Offit Kurman. Dave, Bob and Ian are outstanding lawyers and more importantly, true leaders in the Frederick community. In addition, we are pleased with our rapid growth in our Frederick office. Offit Kurman entered the Frederick market in 2013 through affiliation with Seymour Stern. With the addition of the Severn Kresslein team, Offit Kurman will have eight lawyers in Frederick making Offit Kurman one of Frederick’s largest law firms.” Read the full story here.
3. Offit Kurman Launches New Business Litigation Practice Group to Keep Pace with Growth
Offit Kurman continues its trend of growth forward with the launch of a new Business Litigation practice group. Spurred by an influx of new attorneys as well as increasing demand for highly particularized corporate litigation counsel, the firm has created a team of litigators to more thoroughly meet the needs of business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Offit Kurman’s Business Litigation group will concentrate on litigation matters stemming from internal corporate disputes, partnership disagreements, and other conflicts that involve nuanced corporate and accounting issues. The Commercial Litigation group will handle external litigation matters including intellectual property cases, product liability matters as well as a host of matters that our corporate litigation clients regularly contend with. The Construction & Commercial Claims Litigation group will continue to provide industry-specific legal representation with an emphasis on alternative dispute resolution. Read the full story here.
2. Offit Kurman Reaches 100 Lawyers, Offering an Even Greater Array of Legal Services to Clients
In 2007, The Daily Record featured Offit Kurman in “Shooting for 100,” the cover story for Maryland Lawyer. The article quoted Offit Kurman co-founder and Principal Maurice Offit about his aspirations for the firm: “Our vision was to become 100 lawyers in five years. We have grown from approximately 10 attorneys in 1997 to 40 attorneys in 2007, and we think we have a model that works.
