Practice Focus

Tom Repczynski is a principal with Offit Kurman’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors' Rights group working out of the firm’s Fairfax office. Tom focuses his practice in general commercial and civil litigation with an emphasis on fiduciary disputes, creditor’s rights/bankruptcy, real estate related, and general collection matters. Tom represents an array of lenders, businesses and individual clients from across the country in federal, bankruptcy and state court matters with a broad range of estate planning (i.e. inheritance related) disputes and general business contract and tort issues in addition to preference defense and other secured/unsecured general creditor dealings in bankruptcy proceedings with national or local implications.

Points of Distinction

Tom is a member of the Leadership Fairfax Class of 2010 and has been awarded the President’s Award for his service to the Fairfax Bar Association. Additionally, Tom has served as president of the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association (NVBBA) and is a former member of both the Bar Liaison Committee to the Alexandria Division of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee for the EDVA.

Activities

Tom is active in both community and Bar-related activities. Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Fairfax Bar Association; holds the office of President of the Ocean Sands South Property Owners Association in Corolla, North Carolina; serves as a class officer for his Dartmouth alumni class. Tom is a past Chairman of his Fairfax County, Virginia, community association’s Architectural Review Board. In addition, Tom assists Boy Scout Troop 688 and Brownie Troop 2555, umpires for the West Springfield Little League in Burke, Virginia, and plays goalie for an adult coed soccer team. Tom has previously served as President and member of the Board of Directors of the Walter T. McCarthy Law Library in Arlington, Virginia, and in June 2008 stepped down as chairman of the Library Committee for the Fairfax Bar Association with oversight responsibilities for the Fairfax Public Law Library.
