Mr. Ogens’s practice is focused on the negotiation, settlement and litigation of Family Law matters in Maryland and the District of Columbia, including separation and divorce, annulment, alimony and child support issues and analysis, custody and child visitation issues, and the identification, valuation, classification and division of marital and non-marital property, as well as preparation and analysis of Separation and Property Settlement Agreements and Prenuptial Agreements. He also serves as a mediator and as an arbitrator in family law disputes.

Points of Distinction
Mr. Ogens is the Immediate Past President of the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, an association of the nation’s top matrimonial lawyers from the 50 states who specialize in all issues relating to marriage and divorce. The Academy conducts local continuing legal education programs, participates in the legislative process and engages in a variety of other activities to serve the public and improve the practice of matrimonial law.
Ron is a certified Family Law Arbitrator (AAML) and he is a Court Appointed Family Law Mediator for the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.
Activities
Ron is a member of multiple associations and organizations including being a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a Public Member of Montgomery County Government Fire and Rescue commission which includes service to the citizens of Montgomery County as Chair of the Commission, Presiding Officer in appeals from orders of the Fire Chief and Chair of the Master Fire Defense, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services Plan Task Force. Ron is also a Member/Commissioner of the Montgomery County Government Ethics Commission and a Member of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
Publications/Speeches
Mr. Ogens is a frequent lecturer in family law for Continuing Legal Education programs, including the Marital Property Workshop, Maryland Law of Dissipation of Marital Assets and Family Law Around the Beltway.
