Practice Focus

Mr. Elias is a member of Offit Kurman’s landlord practice group where he represents various commercial and residential property management companies, associations, and landowners.  Mr. Elias is fluent in commercial and residential real estate and contract matters. He is also a known source on the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act.  Mr. Elias also maintains a general civil practice where he represents business owners in litigation disputes and transactions.  In addition, Mr. Elias is familiar with matters involving liability claims and insurance coverage disputes.  Furthermore, Mr. Elias has experience in appellate proceedings in the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Mr. Elias was the drafter an appellate brief to the Maryland Court of Special Appeals regarding indefinite alimony and divorce. In September 2009, Mr. Elias argued the appeal in front of the Court of Special Appeals where he prevailed and the Court’s opinion was published as Cruz v. Silva, 984 A.2d 295 (Md. App. 2009).
