Practice Focus
Joseph Beller concentrates his practice in real estate law with particular emphasis on zoning, land use and real estate tax assessment law, as well as matters involving Municipal law. He practices regularly before the Philadelphia Zoning Board Adjustment, the Board of License and Inspection Review and other agencies and advisory boards concerned with matters of land use, zoning, building, health and safety. He has argued on these matters before the Common Pleas Court, Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Mr. Beller has advised on matters involving residential developments, religious institutions, daycare centers, restaurants, telecommunications, parking facilities, shopping centers, nightclubs and convenience stores. He has acted as counsel to several civic associations regarding zoning and licensing matters.

Points of Distinction
Mr. Beller has represented the Newsstand Operators Association of Philadelphia and the Food Vendors Association before the City Council of Philadelphia. He has represented before the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Courts of Pennsylvania, Nextel, Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Verizon, Patriot Parking, T-Mobile, Adidas America, as well as a variety of both large and small businesses including developers. He has appeared as an expert witness for real estate matters.
Mr. Beller's opinion has been solicited regularly by both print and broadcast media for comment on current matters of pending legislation and significant zoning matters.
Activities
Mr. Beller has been active in various charitable organizations including Board membership. Mr. Beller has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at Drexel University where he taught courses in real estate law and general business law. He is presently an Adjunct at Temple University where he teaches Real Estate Law.
Publications/Speeches
Mr. Beller has lectured on behalf of various bar association groups, civic associations and to the general public on dealing with City Agencies and general real estate matters. He has also been a faculty member and author of materials for CLE courses given by PBI and NBI.
