Practice Focus
During his more than 40 years of practice, Buddy Potler has concentrated his efforts in the practice of business law and litigation. He has represented numerous institutional clients and local businesses in commercial litigation and bankruptcy cases and during the last several years has actively participated in the alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") process as a mediator. In that regard, Mr. Potler has been appointed by numerous courts to facilitate resolution discussions.

Mr. Potler's wide array of business and legal experiences serves clients with "seasoned" counsel on contract matters and litigation in a manner that is practical and cost efficient. Activities
Mr. Potler facilitates groups of business owners, CEOs, & COOs in Annapolis, Columbia, Towson and Lutherville, who meet monthly to discuss issues of common concern. Furthermore, he has been or is a member of various local and regional organizations including the Advisory Board for Paralegal Studies at Villa Julie College, Baltimore City, Maryland State, and American Bar Associations, the Commercial Law League of America, the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys, the Baltimore Exchange Club, Baltimore Rotary Club, Printing & Graphic Association of Maryland, and Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland. Mr. Potler also has for many years participated as a volunteer at several soup kitchens in the Baltimore area and at the Rosewood State Hospital for mentally retarded adults.

Publications/Speeches
Mr. Potler has been a speaker, panelist and seminar leader on diverse legal issues for dozens of organizations throughout the Baltimore-Washington corridor. Mr. Potler served as assistant professor at Villa Julie College in teaching creditors' rights and general legal matters to paralegal candidates. He also served as a lecturer at Catonsville Community College on the subject of mortuary law. He has also been a contributing columnist for the Bankruptcy Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association as well as for several regional publications including Baltimore Business Journal, Baltimore Smart CEO Magazine and The Business Monthly.

Previous Work
Prior to joining Offit Kurman, Mr. Potler was a Co-Founder and Partner in a general practice downtown Baltimore law firm. He also served as the Chief of Collections and Assistant County Attorney for Baltimore County and as an Assistant County Solicitor (Litigation Section) for Baltimore County.

Honors
Mr. Potler received a special appointment by the Baltimore County Executive to review and recommend changes regarding the internal administrative procedures of the Baltimore County Liquor Board. He was also named Maryland Small Business Advocate of the Year by the Small Business Administration.
