William H. Cotter is an Associate in the Philadelphia office, where he focuses his practice on Business Services and Estates & Trusts. As an Estates & Trusts practitioner, Will has experience in estate planning, estate and trust administration, family business succession planning, federal income, estate and gift taxation, charitable giving, and tax-exempt organizations. His estates and trusts work often includes matters such as drafting wills, trusts, special needs trusts, powers of attorney, and health care powers of attorney.
Will's Business Services experience includes representing individuals, fiduciaries, and closely-held businesses in a wide range of matters, including corporate formation, employment agreements, shareholder, partnership and operating agreements, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, and analyzing business structures for legal, liability, and taxation issues. Will has both a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He received the Faculty Award for outstanding academic performance for the graduating class in his Taxation program. Previously, he graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he majored in both Journalism and Philosophy.
